Contestant Information

A parent or guardian may provide information such as:

• contestant name;

• academic grade;
• interests and activities;
• skills, hobbies or personality information;
• social-media information if voluntarily provided;
• availability;
• photographs;
• optional casting video links;
• registration information;
• filming-related information; and
• other information voluntarily submitted for casting or participation.

Business & Partner Information

Businesses and organizations may provide:

• business or organization name;
• contact person;
• email and telephone number;
• website and social-media information;
• sponsorship or advertising interests;
• logos and marketing materials;
• product or service information; and
• other partnership details.

Payment & Transaction Information

When you make a registration payment, donation or other payment, payment information may be processed by a third-party payment processor such as Stripe.

We may receive transaction information such as payment status, transaction amount, date and related account information. We do not need to store your full payment card number on The Challenge Zone website in order to process these transactions.

2. Information Collected Automatically

When someone visits our website, certain technical information may be collected automatically by our website, hosting provider, analytics tools or security services.

4. Children’s Personal Information

Because The Challenge Zone is designed for youth participation, we take additional care with information relating to children.

Parents and legal guardians are expected to submit information about contestants and authorize their participation.

Depending on the activity, a parent or guardian may be asked to provide consent or complete additional releases before we collect, use or publicly display certain information involving a minor.

We do not require a child to disclose more personal information than is reasonably necessary for the activity or participation involved.

5. Photos, Videos & Casting Materials

Casting forms may request or allow parents and guardians to submit contestant photographs or optional casting video links.

These materials are used for casting review, contestant selection and related production purposes.

Submission of a casting photograph or video does not by itself authorize unlimited public or commercial use of that content. Public use of contestant photographs, filming or promotional content may be governed by a separate parent/guardian media release or participation agreement.

6. Filming & Media

The Challenge Zone is a filmed entertainment production. If a contestant is selected, parents or legal guardians may be required to sign separate participation and media releases before filming.

Those agreements may govern the use of photographs, interviews, video footage, audio recordings, contestant names and other production content.

This Privacy Policy does not replace a signed media or participation release.

7. Email & Communications

We may use email and related communication systems to send:

• casting confirmations;
• selection notifications;
• registration instructions;
• filming reminders;
• episode information;
• contestant materials;
• partnership communications;
• donation confirmations; and
• other Challenge Zone updates.

We currently use email-marketing and automation tools such as MailerLite to help manage these communications.

Marketing emails will include an unsubscribe option when required. Transactional or production-related messages may still be sent when necessary to complete a registration, payment or scheduled participation.

8. Payments

Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers, including Stripe.

Payment processors may collect financial information directly under their own privacy and security practices.

We generally receive confirmation that a transaction was completed along with information needed to associate the payment with the applicable registration, donation or transaction.

9. Analytics & Cookies

Our website may use cookies, analytics technologies and similar tools to operate the site, maintain security, remember preferences and understand website traffic.

We may use services such as Google Analytics or other website-measurement tools.

We do not knowingly use contestant personal information for targeted behavioral advertising.

10. When We May Share Information

We do not sell contestant or parent personal information.

We may share information only when reasonably necessary with service providers or partners that help us operate the website or program, such as:

• website hosting providers;
• form-processing services;
• email and communication providers;
• payment processors;
• production personnel;
• technology and automation providers;
• analytics providers;
• professional advisers;
• vendors supporting production; and
• legal or government authorities when required by law.

Service providers are expected to receive only information reasonably necessary to perform the services they provide.

11. Sponsors & Advertisers

Sponsors and advertisers do not receive unrestricted access to contestant application information simply because they support The Challenge Zone.

We do not sell parent or contestant contact lists to sponsors.

A sponsor may receive or use contestant-related content only when appropriate authorization exists and the use is consistent with applicable participation or media agreements.

12. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including casting, participation, production, communications, recordkeeping, payment, legal and administrative needs.

We periodically review information we maintain and may delete, anonymize or securely dispose of information that is no longer reasonably needed.

Children’s personal information will not knowingly be retained indefinitely when it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

13. Parent & Guardian Rights

A parent or legal guardian may contact us to request, as applicable:

• confirmation of information we maintain about their child;
• review of the child’s personal information;
• correction of inaccurate information;
• deletion of personal information;
• withdrawal of consent for future collection or use; or
• that we stop further collection of certain information.

We may need to verify the identity and authority of the requesting parent or guardian before completing a request.

Certain information may need to be retained when required for legal, payment, safety, dispute-resolution or legitimate recordkeeping purposes.

14. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.

However, no website, database, email system or online transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Parents should avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information through ordinary email.

15. Third-Party Websites & Services

Our website may link to third-party websites or services, including social-media platforms, video platforms, payment services, ticketing systems or partner websites.

Those services have their own privacy practices, and this Privacy Policy does not control information collected directly by websites or services that we do not operate.

16. Social Media

The Challenge Zone may maintain accounts on third-party social-media platforms.

Information publicly posted or voluntarily shared through those platforms is also subject to the privacy practices and settings of the applicable platform.

Parents should supervise minors’ use of social media and avoid publicly posting personal information they do not want available to others.

17. Do Not Send Highly Sensitive Information

Unless specifically requested through a secure and appropriate process, please do not submit highly sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, financial account passwords or similar credentials through our general website forms or email.

We may update this Privacy Policy as our program, website, technology or legal obligations change.

When material changes are made, the effective date displayed at the top of this page will be updated.
